Laura Kung - 1 of 39

Laura Kung is an interdisciplinary artist and materials designer based in Portland, Oregon, whose work moves between weaving, natural dyeing, and sculpture. Her practice is built on slow processes: foraging natural dyes, working the loom by hand, letting material and time do the work. We spent a day in her Portland studio on medium format film, moving between the dye-stained fabric drying along the walls, the bundles catching afternoon light, and Laura at the loom. The whole space felt like an extension of how she works: patient, tactile, and deeply attentive to the in-between.
